Atomically Precise Nanoribbons Quantum Platform (ATYPIQUAL)

ATYPIQUAL Horizon Europe EIC PathFinder Open project aims to create a room temperature quantum technology platform using Atomically Precise graphene nanoRibbons (APRs) and demonstrate its feasibility through technologically relevant devices.

ATYPIQUAL proposes a high-risk bottom-up approach, "hard-wiring" complex quantum states into APRs, which have unique properties like topological quantum phases and spin polarization. Achieving atomic precision control requires recent advances in bottom-up synthesis. By utilizing atomically precise bottom-up on-surface synthesis, ATYPIQUAL aims to develop advanced APRs with tailored functionalities, relying on a graphene nanoribbon backbone.

By showcasing feasibility examples and developing material processing and device fabrication steps, ATYPIQUAL will pave the way for a new quantum technology platform with atomically tunable multifunctional devices for next-gen electronics, photonics, and spintronics.
